Travel With Timeshares
From the mountains of Switzerland to the beaches of Spain, you no doubt have a list of worldwide destinations you'd like to explore. One way to ensure that you'll be able to travel to any of the vacation destinations on your list is to buy timeshare. Many frequent travelers might shy away from the idea of purchasing a vacation property for fear that they'll then be tied down to one locale for the life of their contract. However, with timeshare, the opposite is actually true. Timeshares are exceptionally flexible. In fact, it's estimated that some 70% of timeshare owners have used their vacation home to travel to a locale other than their "home resort."
It's simple. When you buy timeshare, you're actually purchasing an increment of time at the resort of your choice. Your property will be secured for you to use for whatever share you choose (the most common is one week) every year or every other year. You can return to this beloved locale every year without ever having to concern yourself with securing appropriate accommodations. However, when the urge to travel to a new and exciting destination strikes, it's very easy to trade your time at your "home resort" (the property that will be deeded or contracted to you) for a week anywhere in the world.
To do this, you'll need to ensure (before you buy) that your timeshare is affiliated with an expansive exchange company like Resort Condominiums International (RCI) or Interval International (II). These companies create affiliations with resorts all offer the world. They then offer membership to owners of timeshare at these resorts. Members of these exchange clubs can then trade their time for time at a huge array of resorts within the network. With an affiliated property, you can spend a week exploring the streets of Cairo one year, and a week hiking the rainforests of Peru the next.
If you're interested in purchasing a timeshare, but are working within a budget, consider timeshare resale. Buying resale will afford you the same property and usage as buying from the resort, but you'll often save thousands. Additionally, you won't have to deal with any of the aggressive sales techniques that many resorts use when they attempt to sell timeshare. Take your time, research carefully, and let timeshares take you all over the world and back.
